This past weekend we are just finishing up removal of glass to start the metal prepping phase. We have been having one problem though, the window removal from the doors. I have 2 restoration books for this car, and have been searching endlessly online, but have not found a clear cut description with pictures on how to remove the window. After unbolting everything in the door and 2 hours of working the window around and twisting into all kinds of wierd directions, it came out. If you have seen us remove it though, it wasn't the right way for sure. Can anyone tell me the proper way to remove the door window for these cars and maybe include pictures. Or if you can tell me a good resource for this info so I can go get it. I have seen the tech articles in mustang monthly and they don't have a good descrption of this either. To this point we only have one out and need to remove the other. But before we do, we want to make sure we are doing it the right way. We are at the point where we might cut a larger opening in the end of the door in order to take them out and feed them back in. Anyone who has any info, please help!!. Please let me know how you guys all did this part of the project. Thanks.

Although I don't know what may have been hanging up on your windows, I took my driver's side out without removing the vent window stuff and it was a pain. A freind suggested I try removing the vent window frames first, which I did on the passenger side and it made removing the window itself MUCH easier.

I did the same as ZOOKEEPER. It is a pain but it is one of those projects once done right you will never have to get in there again.
