Getting ready to order my hood from Branda, I like the one with the side louvers but is it period correct for a 67 or is the hood without the side louvers correct? I want to get the right one. Any advice?

I've heard that the louvered hoods were for the big block cars with A/C, but I've seen several GT500's with A/C and a standard Shelby hood, so I don't know if only the later cars had them or what. I suspect nobody would know one way or the other. If you like it, then that's the one you should buy, after all who are you building the car to please?

If you're just getting the shelby style hood for Mustangs, I'd say get the louvered hood since you like it. I wouldn't worry about being "correct" unless you're doing a balls out clone with the whole Shelby front end.

Yeah, I know I didn't answer your question. Hopefully someone else can. I would think Branda knows.

Thx for the advice.. I ordered the shelby hood without the louvers. Also ordered a front original tooling fender and the fiberglass nose. Its starting to come together...

They had the one without louvers in stock when I ordered 2 days ago. Not sure if they have any more. I got the spoilered deck lid, endcaps and tail light panel from them and they all fit pretty good. I have decided to go all out shelby clone on the outside and the inside/drivetrain will be what I want (and can afford!)..

When I bought mine from them, I talked to them personally.... there were two different mfg's of the shelby hood for a 67 without the special fender pieces (basically a regular hood with the shelby scoop). He recommended the one that would fit better but needed a bit more 'surface' work to prep for paint. Obviously the other one they had had less surface prep work, but the overall fit was a bit worse and required cutting of the actual hood.

SO, just talk to them and they will size up what you require and make a great decision for you. I also got the orginal tooling fenders and the california special trunk pieces... again on their warning, the trunk was a great fit, but the quarter extensions were horrible... not now, but they took alot of work.
