Hey guys, bought this car a while back. Someone did a I6 to V8 swap but never did the brakes, ect. ect. I'm planning on just using this as a daily driver and not tring to show off or go fast. They did put on a dual exhaust system. If I'm just using this as a daily "take it easy" driver, How important is it to upgrade the coils and brakes and stuff? Thanks.............

Do the suspension and brakes, otherwise in daily driving, you're even MORE likely to have an accident. Even the 60's V8 brakes (drum or disc) aren't up to snuff compared to what's on cars today.

Alright, I'm tring to do some research here. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong pages in this book? I see no diff. in the coils for a I6 or V8. The weight diff. is only about 50 lb.'s. It's a 302 they put in.

Everything about the V8 suspension and brakes was heavier duty compared to the I6 stuff. If you feel comfortable with it, then OK, it's your car and your life. Just PLEASE let me know where you plan on driving it, so I can avoid you, I value my life, you can live your's anyway you choose.

This is a 67 I'm talking about. I could understand a 65 or 66. But I've been told that the 67's had better suspensions, even in the I6's. But let's say I want to upgrade. What parts would you recommend? Can I buy them at say, Advanced Discount or autozone? Do I just go in and tell them it's for a 67 V8?

Some of the parts you can possibly source locally. Others, you can get from most of the classic Stang suppliers like Mustangs Unlimited. Ideally you should replace all the suspension parts, they do not get any stronger with age. This includes the upper and lower control arms. In addition to that, the replacements come already assembled with new ball joints and bushings, so they're readey to bolt on. Back in the 80's when I did my big block 67, I sourced what I could locally thru the parts houses, and the rest thru Ford.

Give me a break.....Mark Martin.....1,000,000 bucks. You didn't watch the race? They probably don't like the #6 either. Well, I'm not sure what this has to do with my 67 stang but, maybe something good will come out of this.
