Building a 68 302 with edelbrock heads. these are the heads that are 0-ringed for the fel-pro lock wire headgaskets # 1006. My problem is that when I put coolant in it, the coolant seeped out the headgasket! New engine never run.
I took off the heads and the gaskets are on right, dont understand why it leaks, both sides too. I did notice that fel-pro did not put some blue Printo-seal around one coolant passage though, the head dont have a water port there but the block does, anyone else have this problem.

The only thing I can think of is that you may have somehow reversed the gaskets. The front water jackets are blocked on purpose to force the coolant to the rear of the engine block, then thru the heads back toward the front. The gaskets should have been marked 'front' for proper installation. Other than that, I dont know what else to look for.
