My 66 was purchased with a 68 302 already in it. It was also converted over to have 66 factory a/c. I noticed when I was replacing my timing chain that none of the belts align up correctly. Someone has tried to make brackets, but they were not made very well. Also the crank pulley was not correct for the 68 motor, so I purchased a used crank pulley that is correct for the 68 motor with 3 grooves in it. After intalling the crank pulley I noticed that the compressor pulley and the crank pulley are way off. It looks like the compressor would need to come out closer to the front of the car about 1/2".
Has anyone ever had this problem? I am not sure what to do?

I had to find a junkyard piece The bracket I found was a huge piece of steel that was setup for a/c alt.,and powersteering on 1 stamped plate (think it was from a 74 302 from a midsize) it weighed a ton, wish I could give you more detail but that piece is long gone!

Sounds like you need to locate a factory bracket or do some Monster Garage and modify/make your own. If you had a pic, we might be able to make some suggestions to you. For example, is it something you could add a couple of 1/2" spacers to and call it a day?
