I've enjoyed the pictures from others as they have finished their projects.

Here are some pictures from when I picked up the car.

Nice looking car looks like it turned out nice. I think you have to upload your images to photobucket then copy the img line and insert it in your message here.

MII

Yes. It's a rod and custom coil over unit with 2" drop spindles. I like it, espically the rack & pinion steering, space for long tube headers and adjustable ride height.

Great color choice and stance. Car looks great!

Quick question...Did you remove the extra convertible brace connecting the seat platforms to install the exhaust? If so are you worried about excess body flex?

right around the 'x' pipe

conv seat brace

The standard plate the bolts between the seat supports did not fit with the exhaust in place. I fabricated a brace that fit under the exhaust and welded to the subframe conectors as well. I can post a picture later but I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow morning. In summary, you are right about being concerned that the car was not appropriately braced as shown in the picture. The stucture I put in place not only connects the seat supports but also connects to the subframe support.

I'd like to see that; I'm doing that as well. I running a 3" magnaflow exhaust.

I was thinking of making up a plate like the one on the cameros.

3" Magnaflow

68GT500KR_Vert,

Are you planning on running the 3" pipes out the rear? My 2 1/2" pipes are a tight fit between the gas tank and leaf springs. I don't think that the 3" pipes would have fit without some vibration induced clanging against body parts.

Just a thought - good luck.

Nice color choice. What is that off? I've been looking at different shades of blue myself.

FWITW 2.5" exhaust fits with the stock convertible belly plate and a T5, but you have to go H pipe. The X just wasn't going to fit.

I'm not running leaf springs; coil-over system. Magnaflow sells the 3" exhaust kit, why would they sell it if it didn't fit? I've heard of others running it. I'm sure some how it can be made to fit.

I just went out and looked, without the leafs there is plenty of room. I think it's going to take some effort to fit it around the coil-over though. If not I'll just dump it to the sides.

Color choice

S-Car-Go,

The color is saphire blue pearl. It has both white and light blue flake. It is a 2005 Honda B517P color. The painter used PPG paint. So far, the first thing people comment on when seeing the car is the paint.

It would have been nice to have thought of the H-pipe. The Magnaflow folks said that the X-pipe system would fit on the convertible with minor modification of the seat platform support plate. The minor modification turned into a two inch drop, but the exhaust sounds great and fit very well.

It would be interesting to have a thread on "If I could start over I would not have ...". For example, I would not have picked the lokar under-dash hand operated parking brake, the foot operated one would have been better. The Holley red electric external fuel pump was way to noisy, the Mallory Comp 170 I replaced it with is wonderful.

Which is why I'm ripping off the Hotchis design, it drops it like 2"+ to clear everything.
