68 discs on a 67

I used 70 mach 1 disks on my 67 with no problem. They were not the 4 piston type. Just had to use the 70 tie rod end and a few adaptor fittings here and there for the front hardline/soft line and at the master cylinder (for the mavrick MC to fit up to my existing brake lines)

tahnk you
I just thought I've read in a couple of books that they were 1 piston calipers, mine are 4. I plan on replacing them soon so I just wanted to make sure.
67 and back had the 4 piston calipers. 68 and up used the single piston calipers. I have read somewhere about the bearings being different from 67 to 68. Dont know if thats with factory rotors or the aftermarket kits?? Or if the spindels are different?? I just put all new brake stuff on my 67 and went with the stainless steel type 4 piston calipers. Thats suppose to cure the piston sticking problem they have. Mine already had factory disc on it.

Here are pictures of the work that I have done.

Might I ask where you got the calipers, and rotors? Also are those slotted rotors, and calipers the same size as stock ones?

Sure, NPD. http://www.npdlink.com/ Yes they are the same. I bought the whole kit with new everything. I priced doing just the parts that needed replacing. It was just as much as the kit and that came with everything but grease and brake fluid. My car had been sitting and someone had messed the braking system up by putting the wrong stuff on it. So I wanted it all back as close to factory parts as possible. Other then the slotted rotors, it is. :nice:

There is an awful lot of this stuff available from places like autozone, DAP, and pep boys. I replaced a bunch of the stuff from the 70 that was my donor car. Things like soft lines, calipers, and rotors are expensive as hell from NPD and such.

My parts for my 70 from discountautoparts.com (not the same as discount auto parts the store on the corner)
