68 Upper Control Arm Shaft Kit ????

Hi All,
I'm gathering parts for my suspension rebuild/upgrade and the first questions concern upper control arm shaft and bushing kits. My assumption is that MOOG is the best choice for all parts possible (please correct me if I'm mistaken). MOOG has 2 kits for my 68, 1 is the standard type thread in replacement like original (# K8131), the other (# K8233) is a different shaft setup with press-in rubber bushings much like some full size Fords and GM. This modified shaft setup seems that it might eliminate/minimize some of the pitfalls of the original shaft design, but I'm wondering if the rubber bushings might make the front suspension kind of "squishy" feeling or cause other issues. When reassembled, the upper arms will get the "Shelby Drop" and roller spring perches. The intended use for this car is as a highway cruiser and around town driver and will not be raced. I'm looking for opinions on what way to go and there will likely be more ??? as I go.

I'd avoid the rubber one, and tack weld the caps on the steel one.

Why is the rubber bad? I'm not questioning your wisdom, just hoping to become more informed.

Well, there's not much room in there for a proper rubber busing, but assuming there is, the 'give' of the bushing will allow the upper arm to deflect when road forces work on it, which is the whole point of rubber. This will cause minute changes in wheel alignment, and a softer, smoother 'boulevard' ride. Not something one normally considers desirable in a performance car like the Mustang.
