I have a 93 2.3 auto. I can see that it has a 7.5 stock rear.
What is the gear ratio do you think it may be and could it be a traction loc?

Should be 3.73's and it's not a trac-loc...

Stinger is correct, you have an open and so do I. the rear is drum brakes and 4 lug hopefully you have the 15 inch wheel option with ten holes.

The 3.73's in there are the ONLY thing that helps it get out of its own way. I see you have a 302 planned for it. Is that still so or are gas prices making the 2.3 look better these days?

I have everything I need to do a 302 swap but I'm holding off doing it right now because gas issue. I'm getting great mileage per gallon. I removed the A/C components, the sound deaden material in the hatch area and put 38 psi in the tires.

I love driving this car. I welded in some sub frame connectors and the car feels solid now and stopped my door rattles.

I am looking into some sub frames also but I have to get a few other things finished first. If I dont buy another 2.3 hatch I dont think the SVO engine I have will ever make into a car though.

yep like they said 3.73 non trac loc for autos and 3.45 non trac loc for 5 spds. But I am curious why hold off on the 302 swap? My 5L in stock form was managing 28mpg on the highway. Hell my 2.3 was maybe 23-25mpg. My 5.0L actually did better as long as I didnt floor it all the time. But then again I was always flooring my 2.3 when I switched between the 5L and the 2.3. Because the 2.3 floored felt like regular acceleration in my 5l
