71 mach 1 redo

I have a 71 mach 1 and am deciding whether to paint and redo the engine. I have about $5000 in it so far. I am not sure what the going rate is for a 71? I don't mind putting the money in it if has a resonable return, but i have a feeling that I will spend twice as much as the car would be worth. It is a 2v, auto, no a/c and no update on the radio etc.

Yeah, I think you will wind up spending alot more on the car than you will get in return. If you're going to spend money on it fixing it up then you might as well keep it.

The fact that you asked the question tells me all I need to know. My advice = Sell It Now!

Is this a hobby or an investment? Are you looking to fix it up just to sell it? If that's the case, there are much better ways of making money (like a second job or overtime at your current).

I personally couldn't give a rat's @$$ what someone else thinks my car is worth. The fact that our toys happen to go up in value over time is a nice perk though.
