I found a 72 mach 1 for sale, at least the vin says it's a mach. it's got the nasa hood, spoiler, disc brakes, 351 auto, and factory tach and center console gauges, and fold down rear seat. it looks pretty complete, the body is pretty much shot, which is why i'm thinking parts car. I am restoring a 71 and am looking for most of what's on that car. cus myine is pretty bare. it's for sale for $1500. is that worth it for a parts car? I'm not sure if it runs but it looks complete. what do you think?

well then again whats the condition of all the interior parts, hood, etc.....cause i saw a 71 mach 1 smashed all to hell and gone out here at mustang village in fontana, i mean it looked like it got creamed by a dozen 18 wheelers on the driver side, the engine was shot, i mean in my opinion unsalvagable....you know rats, cats....the whole 9 yards....haha, and the interior was pooped in by cats and god knows what else......anyways they wanted like 5500 for it.....so that gives you my opinion......from what ive seen, as in the holy grail of overpricing compared to your option, jump on it...

the body is pretty much a loss, but the hood and trunk lid looks good, no rust or dents, the mach 1 gas cap looked great, rear spoiler was good, the gauges looked good. fold down seat was faded but looked ok, rest of the interior was torn up pretty bad, not sure what kind of shape the engine was in. the mach 1 options it had is what really peaked my interest. even the power disc brakes if those were salvagable.

I have three Machs (for a 72 429 "Mach 1" project I'm doing) in my back yard that pretty much have what you describe. I paid $300/$300 and $500. Mike

If the parts you mentioned are parts that you need and are in good salvagable condition, I'd suggest $800 - $1,200.
