I ran across a 79 v8 2 barrel 4 speed coupe claiming to be an original. I was wandering how rare these cars are and what they're worth. Also what do they weigh, what 4 speed is it, what v8 engines were available, and what rearend should be in the car if it's all stock...it's a nice car.

its prob not worth all that much.weight it should be around the weight of the other foxes maybe 3000 to 3200 pds.the rearend would most likley be a 7.5 as the 8.8 hadnt been invented yet.
Slow engine, weak SROD tranny, weak 7.5 rear end, if it's in tip top shape, it may be worth something, but if it's a rag out car, I wouldn't give more than 1k for it. I think weight was around 2800 or 2900 that year for a coupe.
Do you go to Shadyside? I wouldn't mind it, but my drag car got derailed, and now I am in the process of swapping the suspension over to a 4 banger coupe while I am saving for AFR225's for my 408. Have you been to www.xtrememustangs.com ? it is a a NC/SC site based in Burke/Catawba
