79 with 130amp alt

if i put a 130amp upgraded alternator do i need to unplug the voltage regulator thats on the harness. Is the new volt reg on the new alt?? I dont have the alt yet but planning the wires that are in this 4 cylinder harness.

Pa has a kit for it with a regulator..... The regulators needed for factory gauge to work. The 79 I picked up has neither but haven't messed with it yet, or looked into it too much other then the PA performance kit. Right now mines got aftermarket gauges and a rats nest of wiring with a cheap harbor freight cut off switch and the battery in the trunk that I need to redo. Looks like they have mine wired to a poorly home made bus bar between the cut off and the starter relay so the switch kills alt power with the battery.
