Is it possible to make the '90 to '93 GT's 7K tach read properly on a '92 2.3L? I've had one on a '90 2.3L before and it always read half of what it should, but I kinda figured that happening. I was just wondering if there was a site out there that has found a way to double the electric impulses going to the tach to make it read properly either through a bit of electronic manipulation or is there's a kit you can possibly buy as I know there's no switch on the rear of the cluster like the older Fox's had on the back of their guage clusters. It's only a minor annoyance it only reading half, but hey... perfection in restoration is somthing I live for. Why do I want a 7K tach? Because I have yet to see a white-face guage kit that can be bought one piece at a time or one that has a 6K tach/140mph speedo combo that you can buy as a set. Any ideas guys?

I've done the swap.

I have an 89 2.3 and I swapped in a 93 gauge cluster from a 5.0... and no the tach does not display properly... and for that matter it isnt even correct if it DID work. Factory tach's are worthless. I currently have a 5" autometer phantom tach with shift light on my stang as well. At high rpms the reading can be as much as 800 rpms OFF. Which could be the difference between life and death... get an aftermarket tach and be done with it.

How would you go about swapping the electronics Stinger? Is there a site for it? I plan on getting an aftermarket tach eventually prior to the swap, but it's the asthetics is why I'd soully bother going through the trouble.
