I think mine took 7.5.
This is why when you get the new pan, you have to make sure you get the dipstick and pickup that goes with it.
If the pickup is located at the right depth in the pan, you are always safe with any number of quarts over 5.
Now if the pickup sits high (some do unfortunately) you better make sure there is always at least 7 quarts in there.
Yep. My motor which had no oil in it (just built it up) took 7.5-8 qts. I put the filter on dry tho. So if i pre-oiled the filter, it would have been 7.5 for sure.
