I just want to make sure before I go too far with my 4cyl conversion. The car is a 93 4cyl LX. Any 8.8 rear from 87-93 will directly bolt in correct? I know I have to change the arms and stuff, just want to make sure its a direct bolt in. Thanks
You have to get a V8 rear brake line from the master cylinder, the 4 cyl connects to the soft line off center on the rear and the V8 soft line is right over the pumkin.
Aside from the above mentioned brake lines, it'll bolt right in. I'm not sure off hand if the 4 cylinders had quad shocks (i don't think so) so keep that in mind.
My car, being an '85 should've had a 7.5, and to my knowledge the SSPs weren't upgraded in the rear ends, but it had an 8.8 in it when i got it so either they did upgrade it or the PO did.
you dont even have to do that, just unbolt the bracket for the shocks on the 8.8 and use the bolts and nuts off the 7.5 much easier and works fine, I did it on mine..
