I am replacing my bent axle with a steeda axle kit and I am putting in 3.73 gears.
Stupid question. My 94 GT has an 8.8 rearend right?

Is there a site that shows a complete breakdown of the rear axles. (i.e. axles, bearings, seals etc)

How much different will the 3.73's make than the stock gears.

Thanks :hail2:

1) We sho nuff do got the 8.8. :D

2) Check Scummit for the rear end rebuild kit.

3) When you install a higher rear-end gear, you are essentially increasing the applied torque to the wheels. I hope your rear knows it's times tables...

The 3.73s are gonna be a night and day difference. Are you gonna change them? If so good luck. Its a pain to get them lined out and quiet unless you are skilled. I always pay to have the rear gear done. I know our local Ford tech does them at home for $100 labor. To me, thats a deal!!!

O Autozone has a good exploded view of the rear http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/Ui..._us/0900823d/80/1d/dc/bc/0900823d801ddcbc.jsp

 Thanks

From everything I've read here I thought it was 8.8 but when I called a speed shop for a qoute on axles he asked 7.5 or 8.8 and call back when I knew.
When I called Ford and they wanted over $400! just for the left axle he said he
wasn't sure either.

I was thinking of superior axles from summit but there in Ohio and I need them delivered to Nova Scotia and Steeda has a canadian website and delivery will be FedEX. If anyone has had problems with steeda let me know and I'll rethink getting the superior axles.

I won't be installing these myself. There's a garage that's pretty straight with me and I'll have them install them. The axle kits have new seals and bearings but I wanted to see the complete breakdown back there to see if there's anything else I can replace. Not the diff (running out of money) but any less expensive bits.
Thanks
