So, taking off my rear interior qtr panel to clean up and get ready for carpet... The weatherstripping ( both sides of the qtr glass) is bad so " while I am there" so I am trying to take off what LMR is calling the " Convertible well molding" and its a WHO in the F designed this.......
Trying to take off the tiny nuts underneath all by feel...... Watched some LMR videos and looked at the parts to see where the studs come down through the body lip, but?????? Of course LMR uses an 87 car which is different in the 83-86 video.........

The LMR part shows a stud on each side of the corner bend, but between no room due to the fender well and what seems be some covering over the studs ( Roof material??) I cannot get to them... I cannot even feel them..... Just about ready to break it out an buy a new one.... l

Can anyone advise me here before I get out the BFH........... thanks

OK, deciding I had nothing to lose, I took a razor knife and a cotter key rermover and cut and dug...... Turns out someone fillled it with what I would call " dum dum"..... Not sure why... Previous owner, my sister, told me she had another top put on the car at one time......
No wonder I could not find the studs and nut....

" While I am in there" , I will probably remove the rear center section of the well molding and sand and paint all 3 parts of the molding.... Probably order and install the rubber gasket that fits under the molding too.....

I need to get on this as the donor car is here for my " next " project............
