Trying to find out the fuel pressure for a 84 3.8 TBI,its at 45 with the motor running and wondering if its too high since my code scanner brought up a code for being too rich.

Unfortunately I have an '83 with a carb. So I can't tell you for sure.

If it were a V8, you'd be peachy.

I wouldn't think your fuel pressure would be a problem though.

Let me move you over to the tech section, the resident genius and all around nice guy @jrichker can probably help you out.

If if the fuel pressure was two high, the two injectors in the Throttle body should limit the duty cycle of the injector to lean out the mix.

What was the exact code number?

So the 3.8 liter is officially referred to as "CFI". Spec would be 39 psi

Code 86 means "adaptive limit reached:RICH"

So I think you are on the right track that you might be a bit rich
