Therefore, it is electrical instead of points/condenser. Yet, it utilizes mechanical and vacuum advance instead of electrical advance.

If you already have a MSD then you could buy an MSD billet distributor and it just plugs right in. They are a little pricey but the ease of installation and less wires combined with a strong billet distributor I think is worth it.
