doing a carb conversion....is it mechanical or electric

My old car had a mechanical vacuum advance. This is in my old 82 GT with an 85 GT distributor.

guess i should have been more clear.....is the distributer mechanical or electrical?

Depends on what you mean.

It is a DuraSpark II distributor which means it does have an ignition control module. Therefore, it is electrical instead of points/condenser.

Yet, it utilizes mechanical and vacuum advance instead of electrical advance.

Thats what I had.

If you already have a MSD then you could buy an MSD billet distributor and it just plugs right in. They are a little pricey but the ease of installation and less wires combined with a strong billet distributor I think is worth it.
