85ish upohlstery question.

I have a pair of 85 gt seats that im trying to take the cloth off to remove the headrest and have them recovered, but i cant get them to slip off for the life of me. does anyone know where i could get directions or a write up? and also where can i get new cloth? TIA!!!

I think on the headrests you gotta rech up from the bottom of the seats and there are little clips that keep them in....maybe use some pliers up in there. I have never done this, its only what I have heard. I think you can get some covers from 50 Resto or somewhere like that.

If the seats are out, you should be able to stand on the seat and pull up pretty forcefully and they will come out. Otherwise, using a large screwdriver, pry the clip away from the headrest post while pulling the headrest up. The clip is on the front edge of the headrest. You can feel it when you put your hand up the seat back. It is right at the bottom of the headrest post. I've pulled probably 15 or 20 of them, so it takes me like 30 seconds.

And 5.0 resto says they do have the upholstry kits.
