86 5.0 heads question

Hey everyone,

Does anyone happen to know if 98+ explorer heads will bolt on to the 86 5.0 without any issues such as valve clearance and stuff like that. and does anyone know if there is a cam i can run in the stock 86 motor?

I have an E cam in my 86, some people say not to run a cam, some have cam and heads with no clearence problem. Flat top pistons dont leave a lot of room for big cams or diff heads. If you're planning on something serious you can always but the kits to notch the pistons, or change them!

The Explorer GT40P heads will NOT work on a stock 86 shortblock. The pistons will need to be flycut.
