86 Mustang Shop Manuel

Hello everybody, I have a 86 Mustang Lx Convertible. And it is really beginning To show some wear and need some repair. I would like to purchase a good Repair Manuel to help guide me though this process if any one has any suggestions I would love to hear them, Thanks everyone.

Jay Leno has an on staff mechanic. I do not know if he has a brother named Manuel, but I can ask for you.

Chiltons and Haynes are the obvious starting place if you are a beginner. I do not think they have enough non engine rebuild info once you get to the interior.
A Ford Shop Manual on CD/DVD is what I would be looking for. (Actually, I am looking for the paper copy after we last moved. I might find a CD-ROM copy first.)

Chilton or Haynes are ok but for me I got a Ford Assembly Manual. More in depth. Some, like the 86 models there may be several, one covers electrical, one mechanical and so on,

Here’s two of what I think the General is talking about. I scored these on eBay for a fair price. They’ve definitely been helpful at times! Need to get my hands on the electrical book one of these days!

Factory manuals are the best. They pop up for sale occasionally. Usually in the $75 - $125 range for a set of all 4 books.
