hi i have some quarter glass on ebay, and i got a question form someone i cant answer..he has an 85 hatch, will the side windows from an 89 fit on the 85? i assume so but not sure..thanks
I'm sorry but they are not that easy. I have done this swap and it is much more extensive then that. First the old glass and sail panels will have to be removed and for the new one's to fit you will have to drill a couple holes to line up the mounting studs on the 87-93 glass. I had to take the old brackets and grind and make them work to mount pull the glass portion into the body to seal against the new sealer. After you get past the mounting portion the inside quarter panels need to be changed to the 87-93 style also because there will be a 2 inch gap between the window and the panel. It took about 3 hours to do this right. The car in the pic is an 81 and no the taillights are not a direct swap either.
