I have an 87 Mustang GT. I have just purchased an aftermarket head unit for the radio. I can't seem to get the factory tape deck head unit off. i do not have the removal tool but i was wondering if anyone new any tricks that might work. If anyone can help me please do! Thanks, Dylan

i've used a clothes hanger or nails before on a friend's car that needed a removal tool. on my car, i just unscrew the four screws holding the whole radio bezel in and pull the whole thing out.

most time the new head units come with a removal tool for that head unit. sometimes you get lucky and they will work for the factory one too! see if it works...if no use a metal coat hanger...or buy thte tool...its like 5 bucks...mine came in the mail today...woot

Get a coat hanger, cut it into peices and make 2 U-shaped peices.

Stick each peice into the two holes on each side until you feel resistance and then pry outwards while pulling the radio forward. It should slide out

I think you need to bypass the factory amp? Search on here for that, I know I've seen threads on it.
