Have an 87 LX 302V8 with new battery(800cranking amps)but motor barely turns over. I've had 16 volts going in but still barely turns over. Is it just a weak starter or horrible wiring?
Shook my magic Fox Body 8 ball and it said more info needed.
Is the starter stock?
Are the starter and ground wires stock?
Is the starter solenoid on the inner fender stock?
Have you check the battery cables, starter cable, and ground cables for voltage drop?
Does the motor turn over by hand pretty easy with the plugs out?
You see where I’m going with this? Not trying to bust balls just the more info you can give us the better.
I understand I was pretty vague but I traded my motorcycle for this car 2-3 years ago and just recently needed to move it b4 winter. The was built well mechanically but not great with the smaller details. Wiring seems a mess. I started too late in season to really dig into it. I need to get it into my garage to really start poking around
