hey guys, im new and looking for a big blower like the 871 to put on my 302.
i looked at a previous post about http://www.blowerdriveservice.com/index.html

and saw that there is a lower intake manifold that will allow the 351W to fit a 871 on the intake instead of the 671.. wondering if

8406 289-302 Ford V8 671-871 Blower Manifold. The manifold is 5.7" tall and includes factory style water outlet and backfire valve. Requires Flat Cap style distributor (#2555102/8570402). Water neck not included.
------

would that allow a ford 302 to fit a 871 blower on instead of the 671 like is allowed? just curious, im kinda new at this and not sure what to look for. just wondering if it is at all possible.

I would just throw a 6-71 on her man. 8-71 is pretty big for a 302 and is a little overkill. A 6-71 would work just fine and make tones of power.

I just bought a 671 hampton blower for my 302. A 671 is a very big blower depending on the boost level. You can always change the boost by changing front pullies. Keep in mind you will have several problems fitting a 671 on a 302 car. I have run into minor problems setting mine up. If your interested pm me and I can help you out.

Just about any GM Blower will stick out of the hood and a 6-71 is no exception. I've mostly heard about 8-71s on big blocks.

yes, the 671 will stick out. By the time you add a carb and scoop it will half way up your window
