One thing i forgot to mention. I removed the old quad shocks and took a test drive. the vibration was still there but not as intense. put on the new quad shocks and it was right back were it was. same as now. so i wonder if the quad shock removed help with the pinion alignment.

on my way to add washers to the trans mount. be back in a few...

i tried to figure the pinion angle thing out myself once b/c I swore that was the problem, it was very tricky and I never really had myself convinced I was right. I ended up having a DS that was not high speed balanced, they told me ford racing only balances the DS's at 30mph I have no clue if its true but it did fix my vibration

SB, i have an aluminum brand new racing shaft from summit.

I added little over 1/8th in and it did improve. then i went to between 3/8th and 1/2 inch. got worse. so now i am down to less then 3/8th. will test drive later and let you know.

this is getting expensive, $3.00 toll every time i test drive.. AC Expressway with fresh pavement. At least i can run 75MPH for long time to figure it out.

Maybe it could be a Pilot Bearing along with Throw-Out Bearing Retainer....

Pilot maybe.. Throw-out not sure because when the clutch is in the vibration does not change. Noticed today that when cold you feel a lil up and down when going slow that seems to match speed when going fast. never felt it before.. or maybe i am just so intense with trying to feel it i am noticing it more. but when driven for a while after does not do it when going slow... so maybe back to tires... ugghh.. I eve hate to drive it now...

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

My car is lowered and I have the same problem. A friend of mine was experiencing the same thing with his 97 cobra, also lowered. He bought coil-overs and adjusted the ride height until his pinion angle was correct, and the vibration went away.

I'm going to attack mine soon and try to find the problem. I'll speak up when I do.

was referring to throw-out bearing retainer on tranny (hopefully on same page) They make a hardened steel version to replace aluminum one. thats why i was thinking tranny area givin everything else you've done.
