88 notch need help with prob

i can drive around all day in my 88 notch but as soon as i shut the car off it wont start back up just turns over till it cools down has spark and gets fuel just dont under stand this can any one help please

starter might be bad??? alot of times when there cold they will start and when there hot it wont start up again until its cool.

Check for spark, injector pulsing and fuel pressure. There's a decent chance the TFI module has gone south.

ahh i didnt see that you said it turns over till it cools... and ur sure ur getn fuel???

I noticed with mine, if I turn the key allthe way, the starter acts like it seizes and the engine wont start, but if I turn the key just enough to start it, it starts fine. Has nothing to do with spark...Just a thought...

What diagnostics were done that led to the TFI needing to be changed? Was it changed with a known good module?

What did you mean about it getting fuel? It has fuel pressure or injector pulsing?

Is the battery in the stock location? Also when it cranks and not starting is it cranking at normal speed?

well the battery is in the trunk and the inj. do pulse if you dis con one of the inj. the car will fire up

i can go drive the car now till it warms up shut it off try to start it no good then unplug one of the inj. and it will start right up anyone

Is the FPR leaking gas back into the Vac system?
