will an 88' aod tranny swap into a 95' aod car? it is imperative that the answer be correct so if your not sure DON'T respond. Both cars were v-8 cars thanks
95s do not have AODs, they have the AOD-E. The main difference being that the shifting in the AOD is controlled by the TV cable connected to the throttle body. The AOD-E shifting is controlled by the computer.
The last year of the AOD in Mustangs is 93 and the first year of AOD-Es is 1994.
You can physically bolt the AOD into the 95 car but you will not be able hook up any of the electrical connections that the old trans had and you would have to retrofit a TV cable set up to control the transmission. All in all a pain in the but.
95 is an AODE, so you'll need to find a way to adapt the TV cable if you use the older AOD. It would physically bolt in, but the TV cable issue may cause a few snags along the way.
