Hi I recently purchased an 89 gt and was having trouble with a few things. I saw someone talking in a post about your knowledge of the 5.0's. So I hope you don't mind me asking.

First I'll just tell you a little about the car.
Its has full intake including typhoon manifold.
The b303 with 1.7's
BBK shortys and off road X...

My first problem is the drivetrain (not sure really???) Vibrates really bad after about 90mph... Its fine when it's in gear but if Im switching gears or in neutral it's uncontrolable. I also hear a "clunk" noise when I let of the gas or push it.

My next prob. should be easy... My brake lights wont work and my blinkers wont flash... I've changed the bulbs and changed the flasher. The hazards do work. Are there 2 different flashers for the blinkers and the hazards??

Thanks for your help,
Chris

Just moved to from Cali to Montana and don't really know who to talk to about these 5.0's

Check the rear transmission mount for separation and loose bolts. Check the driveshaft to make sure that the yellow paint mark on the driveshaft lines up with the yellow mark on the flange for the driveshaft mount on the rear axle.

Also check the rear crossmember for bad rubber bushings and cracked welds.

The hazard flasher is separate from the turn signal flasher. The turn signal flasher has several different locations depending on year model. Some of the possible locations are behind the glovebox, behind the radio and on the backside of the fuse panel. it's an Easter egg hunt...

also check the driveshaft bolts that secure it to the flange, they use a 12 point 12mm wrench, sometimes they come loose..

This is one of the things I like about Stangent: other people have a different viewpoint and often think of other posiblities.
