i just got a stock 89 gt for christmas and was wondering what i need to do to make the car a 5 lug? also it has an automatic trans , what type of trans would it be ? thanks in advance!!
man that would be a nice christams gift to get lol. for your trans its just an AOD, for the 5lug swap kit, theres different ways to go about. you could swap all the stuff from a sn95 stang over to yours , 50resto.com sells the kit for like 400 bucks i think. its just how you want to set it up
What 5-lug swap you use all depends on what wheels you want to get and what type of braking you want.
There are cheap $300 conversions which offer no brake upgrades and allow you to run limited wheels...to mild budget SN95 conversions which do upgrade brakes, to Cobra SN95 conversions which offer great braking to high dollar brake systems from Baer and Brembo.
Guys are putting together Sn95 conversions for cheap these days as parts from wrecked Sn95's flood the market. $500 is a reasonable budget to put one together (not including wheels)
