89 mustang 5.0 Gt, parking lights, instrument lights not working.

I need help! my parking lights and instrument light's do not work. i checked the fuse and the fusebox, everything looks good. Help please! i know it could be a wiring problem, but where do i start and how do i check it?

Dumb question. How exactly did you check the fuses? And did you check them all? It's the little stupid things that will bite you in the ass!!

I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be a bad dimmer switch. Dont know all the wiring ins and outs, but I changed it and no more problems. Go figure.

I would start by pulling the headlight switch and seeing if the dimmer terminal and parking light terminals show 12 volts with the switch on.

dimmer switch was/is the culprit on mine as well. try moving the dimming switch back and forth and wiggling it. Sometimes the lights will flicker back on. Kinda silly but I believe that connection goes bad and you might be able to clean it with some sand paper. Better off just buying a new one so it doesn't happen again. (if that is the problem.)

Electrical faults are like jigsaws, you've got to test them one piece at a time - get yourself a cheap multimeter, and start from the failed component and work your way back.

Seems to me that since he lost parking lights too, the issue is not dimmer specific. That is why I would start at the switch, unless both issues are unrelated (unlikely IMHO).

I had the same issue that turned out to the headlight switch. My roomate recently had the same issue. Headlight switch burned up on him.
