Replaced the alternator and battery but alt still isn't charging batt. I noticed there was a 14GA green wire not hooked up to anything(coming from alt plug). I pulled up a diagram and it says it should be plugged into the solenoid. Is this correct? If so, which bolt on solenoid do I attach it to?? I tried hooking it up to the bolt that has wire leading to battery and the voltmeter on dash spiked to about 13 from 8, BUT the wire got really hot......is that normal?? Thanks in advance
