9" Housing Ends with 96 GT Disk Brakes?

I'm wanting to get my 1996 GT 8.8 rear end shortened from a local drive-line company. They told me to upgrade to 9" housing ends, so i can run bigger spline axles which i was wanting to do. I just wanted to know if the disk brakes from the 1996 GT Rear End would bolt up to the new 9" Ends.

There are all types of 9" ends out there. Mark Williams does an 8.8 upgrade that allows the use of stock brakes, ABS and all. Strange has 9" Mustang bolt-in retrofit rears that require there SVO brake kit or similar.
The only rear difference is making sure the caliper mount bracket on the ends are made for your car.

When you say the caliper bracket are you talking about the stamped steel peice with the 2 holes that held to the axles tubes with a U-Bolt?

I looked on Moser and they offer a 8.8 end housing that accepts a small ford 9" bearing. It says will fit "most" 8.8 brake system. I think thats what I probably need, that should let me be able to run the 9" non c-clip axles and still run my disk brakes.

When we did the same thing on my fathers 93 Cobra we had to go to Mark Williams as suggested above, they were the only ones that would make the parts to use with the FACTORY disc set-ups....if you were afermarket race brakes you can go anywhere, for instance my Wilwoods work with the 9" end Moser has.

The brackets didn;t work right out of the box we had to modify something slightly, I have all the measurements based on a 93 cobra rear if your interested.
