okay so I was think about rebuilding my E7 heads but since I went through all that trouble I’m think about buying some aluminum heads has anyone had experience buying ebay ones? I would buy cast iron gt40 but everyone in my area thinks they have a gold mine and are selling them way to expensive

dont buy any used heads unless you know the history of them and can inspect them before purchase. expect to pay to have them checked out and most lkely milled at a minimum. There is no reason in the world to put $1 into E7 heads. Unless you get gt40's for dirt cheap, you are better off waiting to get a set of TFS or AFR heads. If you are a newb or not knowledgable, save up for a new set of heads.

I’m talking about off brand new aluminum heads from ebay some of these are going for 699 a pair just wanted to see if anyone has bought these or experience with these I’m staying away from used and yeah I know the e7 are trash

you mean cheap chinee knockoff heads with unknown valvetrain parts and known quality control problems?
There is a reason TFS and AFR heads are $1100 to $1500
You get what you pay for,

100% true but this car isn’t a car I value to much its more like an oh :poo: car so don’t want to spend to much $$$

like the man said, you get what you pay for.
Why do you say it's a :poo: car? You sticking it together to flip?
Make sure those 699 heads are complete with valves, some are just bare heads, no valvetrain.

Nah I bought the foxbody for 1600$ I don’t want heads that cost more then the car lol so just looking for a cheaper option about it being a :poo: car is I don’t plan on fixing the body and such that’s why it’s a :poo: car lol

before you spend $1 on those heads, have them magnafluxed. If they check out, have them milled to them up, have the guides, seats and valves checked. If you need more than $300 of work, sell them. You will also need to upgrade teh spring to match your cam

I did that math several years ago and spent $800 overall on a set of iron Gt40s. Well worth it. I had a valve job done and added better Comp springs, retainers and locks. Just took them off and sold for $300, to put on AFRs. Agree with not spending much on stock heads, but go with AFR, TFS, etc, and make sure you get valvesprings matched to whatever cam you have. Some of the alum heads don't come with springs that will tolerate a roller cam.

I had a set of e7 heads that had 1.60 and 2.02 valves installed with a heavy port job...especially on the exhaust side. Those heads were a beast for what they were. They even worked for my 347. They were great and a lot of people slept on them. Not saying they were as good as my TFS heads but they were better than stock ( unported ) gt40 heads.

GT40 iron heads. We have a set floating around here somewhere. Will probably end up scrapping them. I think there is a broken intake bolt in one head that pretty much makes them worthless. No one is going to pay $20 to have a bolt end pulled out of a GT40 head.

Don't waste your frustration on Chinese knock offs. Totally not worth it.
