No surprise. Hatch has rusted through. Since this seems to be a common problem maybe someone has a reasonable solution. I have scoured the wrecking yards and have not found on as good as mine. Fiberglass? Weld in patch? Ideas?

No way... Get into the Want to Buy section or locate another member that's in Texas or Arizona or something. Have them pick up and ship you a rust free hatch from down south. You can even get on-line to the junk yards to dog one up.
If it’s rusted through , I’d skip a repair. Go to searchtempist. It lets you search all of Craigslist. There is a few here in st.louis. Find a clean one,
