This is actually on the 1992 2.3 I sold my uncle awhile back, but I figure the same would probably apply to both the 5.0 & 2.3 in this case.
Anyway, Ya turn the key and there are 5 distinct buzzes coming from what seems to b behind the ac controls/radio. it will buzz again, 5 times, about every 30 minutes. If you drive for a few hours....you hear it about every 30 minutes or so. BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ............the silence for anoth 30 minutes. The interior lights are cutting off as they should, the wiring has not been assed with......Any ideas? I did make it stop by pulling the fuse that goes to the instument cluster which also disables all of the factory gauges.

Is that a beeeep beeeep beeeep beeeep beeeep.........beeeep beeeep.......repeat

That's the airbag control module. Those beeps are a code it's setting off.My '92 is doing the same thing. It sounds faint sometimes. Then goes away an starts...it gets all staticy like a speaker with a bad connection.Mine is a code 52.

Count the first number..then the second. If theres no other codes, there'll be silence for a few extra sseconds then the same code will repeat.Probably bad grounding or a clock spring.

Does your airbag light come on when you turn on the ignition? Typically, it's a fault with the light, and the control module beeps to alert you of the fault condition, since it's your usual warning indicator of any issues. Without it, you otherwise wouldn't know if there's a fault in the system.
