I keep hearing rumors that my 87 dash to 92 dash swap will not work because of some small lining up issues. Has anyone ran into these issues with this swap? And what did you do to make it work? I did a full interior swap and this is the final piece. I have yet to remove the 87 dash, but the 92 dash is all the way out.

I swapped interiors between my 89 and 92 Fox bodies. I wish I had taken the time to swap IP crossbars because without doing that some of the lower dash attachment screws don't have anything to screw into. However, there are no rattles or misalignments that I've seen.

The biggest hassle is that you'll need to completely rewire the cluster. The cluster circuit is different between airbag ('90-) and no airbag ('87-'89) cars.

When using a 1990-1993 black dash in an 1987-1989 make sure you grab the mounting hardware for the fuse block since the fuse block is mounted differently in 1990-1993 Mustangs. You might need to drill a couple of holes in the dash frame when bolting up a 1990-1993 dash in an 1987-1989 Mustang, but overall it's pretty much a direct swap and is very easy to do.
