So my car died (92 LX 5.0 Vert), had it brought home. When you turn the key the fuel pump does not prime. Put a new pump and relay in it about a year ago.
I can ground the test port and the fuel pump kicks on and you can hear it build pressure and the regulator kick in to release that pressure shortly after.
I grounded the test port and used a test light on the positive side of the battery and hooked it to the blue/orange (ground) wire of the fuel pump relay and I it lights up so I know the circuit is good.
I pulled the computer and one of the capacitors looked like it was leaking and wire broken (as I read in another thread), so I replaced the three capacitors on the ECM as described and still no change.
Getting 12v on power side of injectors.
When the fuel pump is running I get 12v on three wires and 6v on the ground?
I can spray gas into the throttle body and the car runs normally.
At this point I can only assume my ECM is just cooked since all the circuits seem functional and the car runs, but before I buy another ECM I wanted to get opinions.
Has anyone else run into this issue before? If I have to get a new ECM is any one better than the other? (My car was an auto converted 5-spd)
Thanks for the help!
