92 MUSTANG 2.3 HELP !!

I JUST GOT A 92 MUSTANG WITH A 2.3 IN IT. !!! !!!
THE TACH DOES NOT WORK.?? CAN SOME ONE HELP ME OUT?

WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN AND TURN IT TO THE ON POSITION THE TACH DOES
MOVE BUT WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED IT READS ZERO NO RPM'S ?

ON MY 5.0 THE TACH DRIVES OFF THE - SIDE OF THE COIL. BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT COULD BE WRONG. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE 4 CYL

check the connections going to the coil packs and the DIS module. if they are all tight then that is a sure sign the DIS is on the fritz and will need to be replaced.

BUT WHAT IS A D.I.S. AND WHERE IS IT ?

it's located on the drivers side of the engine. follow the harnesses back from the coil packs and you will see it.
