I searched but could not find an answer. Does anyone know if the motor out of 92 thunderbird 5.0 is the HO motor? Can I swap that into my 92 fox body?

Thanks in advance

no. it's not an H.O. engine. but it can be kinda easily though.

Yes, it'll swap right in as long as you use the mustangs engine mounts and headers. BUT you have to swap the cam out to get the correct firing order. if it's already out, then now is the perfect time to swap in a aftermarket cam. you can usually get B and E cams used for not too much coin.

91-93 thunderbird is a 5.0 HO engine very similar to the 94-95 mustang 5.0 engine. 1990 was the standard fox style 5.0 standard output, and they went 4.6L in 1994.

89-90 Thunderbirds had only the v6 and sc v6 options, and the 94-5s used the all aluminum intake like the 92-95 crown Vic's did. It took til 96 to standardize 4.6s, go figure.
