Car had been sitting for about a year, I replaced. Battery because it was dead and would not hold a charge. Car cranks, but will not start. I pulled a spark plug wire and tested seems to be ok. I disconnected fuel line both I pressure and return at different times to check if fuel looked good. It looks fine. I was worried that i may have had phase separated fuel or bad fuel. Fuel pressure is 40psi, before car sat it ran great, would start right up. I did no work to car except for testing for fuel spark etc. I am wondering what to try next, could battery being dead so long have affected something? Also I do hear the fuel pump prime and as I said I got fuel out of the line by priming pump and letting it spit out. Nothing unusual pump primes for a second or 2 and stops. I am assuming that since I am getting good pressure that its not a fuel issue. I thought it was spark, but light lit up when I was cranking engine. I am lost, not sure what to try next, I was thinking about spraying starting fluid in to tb, but car is supercharged and I didn't know if I would blow something up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cranks OK, but No Start Checklist for Fuel Injected Mustangs

Cranks OK, but No Start Checklist for Fuel Injected 5.0 Mustangs model years 1986-1995 A word about this checklist before you start: it is arranged in a specific order to put the most likely failure items first. That will save you time, energy and money. Start at the top of the list and work...

Start at the top and do it step by step, the next step is dependent on the results from the step before. It will save you from wasting time and money.

Was the fuel treated before it sat? A year with no additive could make for some bad gas!

Stabil. I know that stuff has some.negstive reviews, but I never had issues with it. Also my other mustang which is parked right next to it for just as long with no battery starts right up when I put battery in. Now I know they are 2 diff vehicles but I put a little stake in the fuel being ok. I mean it looked pure when i took out maybe half gallon of it via the supply fuel line. I suppose I can try and empty the tank it should only have about 7 or 8 gallons in, I just know i had a hard time getting siphon in tank due to a mysterious obstruction. I never can get past it.

There are 3 screws: one with a big red wire that goes to the battery and a small wire red/blue wire that goes back into the wiring harness. Those are the 2 wires that get jumpered together to crank the engine. Just remember that you need to have the ignition switch in the Run position when you do this step.
