I baught a 93 GT from my cousin. I went to get insurance on it and when they put in the vin it came back as 93 GT/Cobra gt. So i decided to get an autofax on it and it came back with the same thing The car has no cobra badging and the intake has been swaped out with a Trick Flow strip heat intake. How can i find out what i got? its a 93 convertable, white top, white lether interrer. I only payed $800.00 for it for it needs a trany.any advice would help. thanks

Ford didn't make a 1993 Cobra convertible.

You have a Gt, very common for titles to say gt/cobra.

Read "GT/Cobra" as GT or Cobra...

(93 cobras were hardtop, htachback and *i think* they only came in black, teal or red... at least those are the only colors I ever remember seeing)

They had (engine wise) Cobra intake, 65mm throtle body, a slightly milder camshaft and 1.7 rockers.

Exerior had 17" thunderbird looking wheels, taillights closer to lx style than to regular gt, different rear spoiler, etc...

OH, and save a few extra bucks and get a tremec. If you start to make any real power, you'll blow up the t-5/world class t-5/etc...

I'm sure your not paying any extra on the insurance.
But the Cobra moniker was used for plain GT's for Mustangs in Canada back in the day, so maybe it's a carry over/cross reference.
But like ddonaca posted there was an actual 1993 Mustang Cobra that was limited production car.

Drive it like ya stole it!
