Ok, here's the deal, I have a 98 3.8 now with 36K. I am going to look at a 94 5.0 with 70K. Has there been alot of problems with these motors with that amount of milage??? What about the Transmission??? I mean have you had any problems??? Here is the add :

1994 Ford Mustang, conv, 5spd, loaded, 70K mls, 3.55 gears, custom lthr, stalker front, rollbar, Warlock exhaust, new clutch & AC pump, $6,500 firm

What all is involved in a "new clutch" and should it have had to been replaced at around this milage? It seems like it should last longer than 70K +/-.

Does it Seem like its worth it??? Any comments are welcome.
Thanks -
Matt

Do it. I'm on 125 K with my first mods - test drive her first. Replacing the clutch isn't that big of a deal at all - and just means more sweet aftermarket parts! (Spec, etc.)

See if you can negotiate something cheapter. Once you go 5.0 you're not going to go back.

70k is nothing IMO. with 70k there is a ton of beating left to do to it

Seriously, I bought mine w/ 69k on the clock, and the clutch was going bad at time of sale. The car was pinging pretty bad too, and the a/c was out.

Those things break, they are not necessarily a sign of a bad car, just time and use. The clutch was bad b/c a the previous owner obviously didn't know how to use a clutch correctly.

I am glad I did and don't regret it. Get it, that sounds like a good deal. But do a careful inspection of the car first, outside and in.

Ask JR...Vortech, KB, then Turbo, all with over 160k miles. Even if there were a problem, mods and labor not too much $$ compared to other vehicles.

bought my 95 with 120k.....she runs like a scalded dog. If you aren't already mechanically inclined, get that way. That way any problem you face is fixable. That being said...dont buy a P.O.S. Take it for a test drive and run it through a garage. You may spend $50-75 for a thorough check, but it could save you from a mistake. Good luck.

I just put on a Kenne Bell blower on mine at 90k and it runs great. I have never had a problem with the car, that I didn't cause.

My bud did H/C/I on his 94 at 90k miles, then this year at 130k miles we put a vortech S-trim on top of that... the bottom end is still stock and the AODE has only had some home-brew shift kit stuff done to it...
