Do you have any CEL codes??? Check for them if you haven't already.

You might want to check your ECT sensor. They are cheap, and my guess is it's either an open circuit or shorted out.

Have you cleaned your MAF and IAT sensors??? Do that as well.

Welcome to the boards!

Does it crank when it wont start? It sounds like it does.

Do you have spark when it wont start?

Good luck.

Does it crank at all when it does this? (starter trys and turn over the car) A bad starter will sometimes have problems once it is hot.

Do you mean won't crank or won't fire up.
Lets address the latter.
If you have no codes....then start with the basics.

You need air, spark, fuel, or a no go situation arises

If it won't fire up check for spark and fuel pressure first.
Get a spark tester. if not then..
Get a screwdriver stick it in plug wire place it some where safe on the engine and get a buddy to crank it. You should see a nice arc to ground. If you don't see that we will go from there.

Get a fuel pressure gage. Thats a must in any tool box (you can't look down the carb.. lol)
But you can see if gas will squirt out of the shrader valve (not recommended ie.. fire hazard)
Give some readings we will go from there.

Quick check when the problem surfaces..

Listen for your pump to prime when you turn the key. IF you hear it good. If not, find your eec IV connector, I forgot which pins, but you can jump them and test your fuel pump/relays etc..

Need some readings

If it won't crank, well .... thats easier to trouble shoot.
