OK cheif im doing this exact swap as we speak. try to find a 2003-04 cobra IRS cause they come stock with 3.55 gears and stronger halfshafts, and pinion stabilizer bar. or you could go with a 99' to 01' what ever you desire.

its basically a staright bold on. you only need to drill 4 holes. the Front mounts of the IRS go right into where your lower control arms on an live axel will rest. and then jack it up until you find the rear upper mounts. (you can do this will the front is bolted up to the frame). make sure have the rear upper mounting braqkets from ford!!!!!!

email me if you need any more help

Should be a good fit. You will need the Cobra driveshaft too. The irs is good for the twisties.

Judging by Vennom's signature I am guessing he wants to swap the other way- Get rid of his IRS and put in the 94's live axle-

There is a little more work involved for the 94-98 vs the 99+ solid axle. Where are you located? I know a guy around Raliegh that is wanting to swap a '00 solid for an IRS. You'd have to drive to him but he has a garage with a lift and all the tools you'll need.

It would be much easier to do a 99+ solid swap. The pre 99's are 1.5 inches shorter, but can mount up.

That's the short answer.

Meaning that they are 1.5 inches shorter side to side...your tires will be tucked in. Besides, do you really want an old axle put into your Cobra Go with a 99+ axle so the trade is a little more equeal. If you do swap for a pre 99 suspension, you better being getting some money on top of your trade.

The guy already has some suspension pieces on it maybe an exhaust system and some gears will make it a fair trade? If it is good condition then would their be a problem.
