Hello StangNet Community:
I'm hoping someone on here can help me with a fuel pressure problem...
This past Friday my '94 GT broke down on the side of the road for the first time in nearly ten years of ownership. I crossed a bumpy intersection and didn't make it to the other side before the car went dead. It happened immediately without a cough or sputter and all systems seemed to be a GO other than the fact I had no fuel pressure! The pump wouldn't prime and I checked the fuses and inertia switch.
I went through the car with a multimeter Saturday (after taking the walk of shame with a tow truck) and found 11.7 volts at the fuse box under the hood, 11.7 going into the CCRM, but only 1.1-1.8 coming out on the green line with the yellow stripe that leads to the inertia switch (for some reason it seemed fluctuate about every 5 seconds).
I thought I had nailed it down to the CCRM and didn't think much of it since there's slightly over 200K on the car. However after putting another one in, still there is nothing. I can jump the pump on the CCRM pigtail and the pump fires right up. And after a few minutes of playing with the multimeter again, I'm now seeing that the pigtail for the inertia switch is still registering a solid 1.9 volts--with the CCRM unplugged!
I'm confused beyond words, and trying to get the car ready for the Power Tour this weekend. The car has been rearended once (that's how I picked it up nearly 10 years ago) and does have a 255 lph intank pump w/Aeromotive adj. regulator (installed nearly 4 years ago). Like said before, this car has been excellent to me over the years. If you have ANY ideas, I'd be more than happy to take your advice!
