I am wondering if I should think about doing a conversion from auto to manual. Should it be something to consider or should I just get the automatic rebuilt? It seems to be slipping every now and then. The car has 165,000 miles.

If you want to know what is involved, click on the link in my signature below. I did a complete write up when I did my conversion.

As for your decision, go with what you want. You can do a complete 5 speed conversion for less than it will cost to do a descent rebuild on your AODE, but you have to know how to shop for the 5 speed parts. If you have the money, the kits are nice and all, but they rape you on price. I put my setup together for about 700 bucks and I ended up with 2 T5 transmissions in the process. I doubt you can get your aode rebuilt for that price!

Buy my g-force. It is practically new and will handle 700 ft lbs or TQ. Its a little whiny for me and my top gear is too high for my cam. I'll post a link.

http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/797514-g-force-trans-roughly-3k-no-track-time.html . Fits perfectly, same place as stock no modifications needed.
